Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2025

SpeedMeet ApS (“we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data with transparency and care. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform and services.

We operate as a platform and marketplace for knowledge sharing meetings. This policy applies to all users of our website and services.

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
SpeedMeet ApS
Email: support@speedmeet.com
This email may also be used to contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO).

2. What Data We Collect

When you create an account and use our services, we collect the following personal data:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Job title
  • Country
  • City
  • Preferred language
  • Profile image

We do not collect any special categories of sensitive data (such as health information, religion, or political opinions).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Provide access to our platform and its features
  • Allow you to create, join, and manage meetings
  • Enable users to interact and find one another
  • Generate meeting links through integrations (Google Meet, Zoom)
  • Facilitate payments for participation in meetings (via Stripe)
  • Onboard hosts who create paid meetings so they can receive payments (via Stripe)
  • Maintain the security and functionality of your account

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal grounds, as required by the GDPR:

  • Contract: to provide you with access to our platform, allow you to participate in or host meetings, and facilitate payments.
  • Legitimate interest: to ensure the proper functioning and improvement of our platform.
  • Consent: where you have explicitly given permission, such as when uploading a profile image.
  • Legal obligation: to retain certain payment-related information as required by tax and financial regulations.

5. Retention of Data

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account or request removal of your data, we will delete your personal data without undue delay, except where we are legally required to retain certain information.

  • General account data is deleted when your account is closed or upon request.
  • Payment-related records (such as invoices, payout information, and records required by tax or financial laws) are retained for the legally required period, even if your account is deleted.

6. Sharing of Data with Third Parties

We only share your personal data with trusted third-party service providers as necessary:

  • Microsoft Azure: hosting and storage of our services.
  • Google: to generate Google Meet links for meetings.
  • Zoom: to generate Zoom links for meetings.
  • Stripe (Payments):
    • When you pay to join a meeting that requires a fee, your email address is shared with Stripe to initiate the payment process. Stripe then handles all further payment details directly, and their Privacy Policy applies.
    • When you host a paid meeting, you will be onboarded through Stripe to receive payments from participants. In this case, you provide payment-related information directly to Stripe as part of their onboarding process.

As the platform, SpeedMeet ApS facilitates these transactions and takes a service fee from payments processed via Stripe.
We do not store or have access to your full payment details (such as credit card numbers or bank account information).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (Google, Zoom, Stripe, Microsoft Azure) may process data outside the EU/EEA. When this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to protect your personal data.

8. Cookies

We use cookies only for authentication purposes — specifically, to keep you logged in to your account. We do not use cookies for marketing, tracking, or analytics.

9. Your Rights under GDPR

As an EU data subject, you have the following rights:

  • Access: You may request a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may request deletion of your personal data.
  • Restriction: You may request that we limit processing of your personal data.
  • Objection: You may object to our processing of your personal data.
  • Portability: You may request to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Complaint: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise your rights, please contact us at support@speedmeet.com.

10. Security of Data

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system can be fully secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required by law, notify you.
